Four's The Score As Terrors Hammer Thurrock

A four goal blitz in the second half at Imperial Fields on Saturday afternoon ensured that Tooting came away with all 3 points and ended a 3 game losing streak in the league.

Tooting had the better of things in the first half, with Peter Wedgeworth, Dominic Morgan-Griffiths, Isaiah Jones and Mike Dixon all going close. The best opportunity of the half though fell to Isaiah Jones in the closing minutes of the half. He was put clear by Mike Dixon and as he closed in on goal, his right footed effort beat Jake Jessup in goal, but unfortunately for Tooting also beat the outside of the post.

The Terrors’ dominance continued in the second half and they deservedly went in front on 53 minutes when Mike Dixon was sent clear by Omar Folkes and calmly slotted the ball past Jessup. Four minutes later the lead was doubled when Isaiah Jones won the ball just inside the Thurrock half. He played a quick one two with Omar Folkes before sending the ball across the face of the 6 yard box where it found Mike Dixon unmarked to score his second of the game. It soon became 3-0 as Dan Clements found the back of the net on 65 minutes and then he too got a second, ten minutes from time. The only disappointment of the day was that the Terrors were unable to keep a clean sheet as substitute Claudio Ribeirio-Goncalves struck home a loose ball from a corner deep into stoppage time.
